DEAR LLOYD
I feel a little strange apologizing to someone I’ve never spoken to or met, especially one who’s had such a tremendous effect on my life. I’m sorry for doubting your word.
That said, I would now like to thank you and Travis for turning my life around and giving me back the hope I lost 6 months ago. Travis is who gave me your books 4 months ago, and since then I must have read them 10 times and continue to read them almost daily.
I’ve known I had hepatitis c since the early 90’s when my family doctor discovered it during a yearly physical, as my blood work came back with some elevated levels he wanted to check out. I was told not to worry about it, but to keep an eye on it in case the levels ever started to rise.
In February 2005 the rise happened. My numbers were AST 123, ALT 181, and PCR 1.2 million. Even though I didn’t have a clue what all these numbers meant, I followed my doctors’ orders and went to see my HCV expert, the almighty and all knowing DR GASTRO ( did I mention asshole ?). That’s when I was told to quit my heavy drinking and whatever else I was doing for 1 year, and he would consider saving my life with Interferon. So much for my margueritas at the Mexican restaurant and a six pack of beer a month. I quit drinking that instant, after realizing what a lush I must appear to be in the eyes of this almighty savior.
Six months later I didn’t know how lucky I was to convince him to start the miraculous treatment. It may have had something to do with the fact I told him my insurance may be running out within the year, so within the month all was approved for me to open and enter the gates of Hell. After five weeks of every side effect mentioned in your book, plus a few new ones, I was directed to stop my life saving injections of Pegasys, and go to a psychiatrist to get myself straightened out before DR GASTRO would spend any more time on me. I don’t know I restrained myself from climbing ove rhis desk and bringing him to hell with me , but I then knew he had put the last straw on my back.
While stumbling around dazed and confused, it was then God sent me your books via his messenger Travis, a total stranger with a heart bigger than the one I thought I lost. The week before Thanksgiving I skeptictly started your program of cleansing and taking some of the vitamins you recommended. The more I read, the more I wanted to believe. So the week before Christmas I went to my family doctor, explained your program and convinced him to monitor my progress with monthly blood tests and a PCR every 3 months. My commitment was to totally follow your recommendations for a month, with the exception of the peptides, at which point I would get my first blood test and set a new baseline.
On January 26th I took my first blood test and the next day started taking TLM.
Today is February 2nd and I received the results of my tests in the mail when I got home.
Lloyd, there is no way I can explain the elation, joy and hope that was in that envelope.
My AST is 49 and my ALT is 64, what a rush! It’s very hard to write this letter as my tears keep fuzzing up the screen. I hope you will accept my apology and thanks.
I know this is just the start of my journey, but with as good as I feel and the results of my first tests, this next year or two shouldn’t be as bad as I feared, especially now that I’ve backed out of the gates of Hell. Thanks for showing me how.
