HEPATITIS C – A Do-it-Yourself Guide for Health
by Lloyd Wright, soft cover, 140 pages, Lloyd Wright Publishing, $8.99

Wright says that he knows all about the rigors of life with Hep C, and he also knows all about wandering in the dark when doctors have no answers.  Maybe he does.  He is also the author of “Triumph Over Hepatitis C,” and writes that more than 200 million individuals worldwide have the illness, about five million of them Americans.  He notes that many people he has helped have used the drug interferon and had it fail.

Veterans test positive for HIV, hepatitis B, hepatitis C

Blood tests confirm that some veterans who received dental care at the John Cochran Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Midtown are infected with HIV, Hepatitis B and Hepatitis C.

Veterans Exposed to HIV & Hepatitis

Being back on US soil doesn't mean these Missouri veterans are safe.

John Cochran VA Medical Center in St. Louis recently notified over 1,800 veterans that they may have been exposed to hepatitis B, hepatitis C and HIV after visiting the medical center for dental work, said Rep. Russ Carnahan.

The association chief of staff at the hospital, Dr. Gina Michael, says some dental technicians broke protocol by hand washing dental tools before putting them into cleaning machines. The hand washing began back in February 2009 and may have caused the tools to become contaminated.

Veterans Health: Mesothelioma, PTSD, Hepatitis C, Asbestos and more

Thank you for your email yesterday.

As you may know, mesothelioma cancer is caused by previous exposure to asbestos. Countless veterans (as well as civilians who may have worked in a shipyard or in the shipbuilding industry) were exposed to asbestos while aboard naval ships, while repairing military vehicles and aircraft, and while residing in aging military housing.
